Testing Hell

I've been struggling with math test anxiety all quarter and yesterday's test was a new low because it affected my gut and I missed 30 minutes of the test due to having to leave frequently. I haven't ever had test anxiety like this before, so I went to the student counseling office to get some tips on controlling it. I'm going to be using comforting techniques like drinking cold water and sucking on sour candy, and I've been told not to hang around other anxious students right before the exam, so no more hanging out in the hallway or arriving early on test day. Hopefully I can talk to the teacher about adjusting the time I take the test and maybe even bring in an mp3 player to shut out noise. Student counseling and health clinics are awesome these days. Apparently some of them are open to the public and they are very affordable!

I've been enjoying Pinterest, the virtual bulletin board. It was slow going at first, but it's a great way to organize things I see on the internet or from other pins I see on Pinterest. I'm mostly collecting recipes and tiny house pictures.

I just heard that Madeline was adopted and that she'll be nearby. I hope I hear from the new family, but regardless, I'm relieved she has a new home. Apparently she'll be living near a river and will be taking daily river walks. I'm happy for her.

That's great news about Madeline. I'm so sorry about the test anxiety! Have you ever tried Bach's Flower Remedy? They have a homeopathic stress relieving candy. Several months ago when I was going through a really difficult time, someone gave me one of the candies, and I couldn't believe how much better I felt! I'm not a "believer" in that kind of thing normally, but all I know is it worked for me. I had been so stressed that I felt I couldn't breathe, but about 10 minutes after sucking on the candy, I felt much more relaxed. You can get them at Whole Foods, maybe in time for your next test!
