The Phone Call

Yesterday, I got a phone call from my puppy club leader about Madeline. She was career changed in phase 3. I was asked about my interest in adopting her, but due to unemployment and inability to take on the expenses of another pet, plus the responsibilities of raising Yumi which I would have to give up if adopting Madeline, I had to say no. I don't know what the second raiser's response was (I always hope it's yes), but I know that the placement program at Guide Dogs is excellent and that they will find an ideal home for Madeline where she is loved and can develop into being the kind of dog she is meant to be. I am going through the typical stages of having made this decision. I know I take a chance of never hearing about Madeline again, but I do hope I hear from her new family once Madeline is "home." After all, I have cute puppy pictures!
